I provide strategic leadership and direction for our children and young people’s work strand, which spans from pregnancy to building a career. Experienced in shaping strategy, influencing policy and driving innovative system-wide transformation, through cross-sector partnerships across VCSE, education, health and social care with a clear focus on improving positive life outcomes, wellbeing and inclusive diverse opportunities.
I advocate for the benefits of physical activity, play and movement. I am passionate and committed to reducing inequalities and championing the voices and needs of children/young people, families and the sector, brining strategic insight and collaborative leadership that co-design and create sustainable evidence-based systems that enable every child to live happier, healthier and more fulfilled lives.
Since joining Rise in 2022, I’ve been incredibly proud that the children and young people team and work have grown significantly and underpinning this is our passion and commitment to listening to the needs and voices of the sector. I’m extremely proud of our ‘you said, we did’ ethos that is embedded in our team culture (nothing about you, without you) which underpins the dedication of the team and the impact that we’re collectively achieving.
I have over 20 years, skills, knowledge and experience working in the youth and community charity sector, including working as a Regional Development Manager for a North East youth development charity. I was also a self-employed fitness instructor, working across gyms, hotels and health and wellbeing settings.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and have a passion for being in the outdoors, watching football every weekend and dog walks to the woods and beach. I’m also a charity trustee and volunteer mentor.
